Interior Design
A grandiose building with a magnificent interior was planned to house a famous international hotel chain. The main floor of the ten story concrete building contained massive concrete columns which impacted the space with their heavy look.
The design concept was to make the structural elements look lighter and more elegant. By incorporating more transparency with light colors, and materials such as white onyx for the flooring, and backlit sand blasted glass to cover the massive columns, the heavy nature of the space was transformed. Curves, plexy glass and custom-made glass chandeliers were used to evoke a light feathery look in the lobby , and precious/decorative natural stones were used in different areas of the hotel. The colour scheme for the rooms was mainly matte gold or silver.
